Finding Rachel

Rachel had expressed her wish for her ashes to be laid to rest at Arnos Vale Cemetery in the natural burial woodland. Situated in Arnos Vale, Bristol, England, this historic cemetery dates back to 1837. The Natural Burial Woodland, located at the top of Arnos Vale Cemetery near Arnos Park in Bristol, covers five acres of scenic woodland. Originally an orchard, the woodland has transformed into a peaceful sanctuary for birds and animals, providing a serene final resting place for those desiring a more natural burial setting.

Opting for a natural burial entails choosing an eco-friendly burial in a picturesque woodland environment rather than a traditional cemetery plot.

Rachel would be overjoyed for you to visit her final resting place at Arnos Vale Cemetery. Regardless of the time of year, Rachel would welcome your presence throughout the seasons. Feel free to grab a coffee from the onsite coffee shop and take a leisurely stroll through the beautiful woods to find her resting place. Perhaps you will feel her comforting presence through the beautiful bird songs surrounding you.

As well as Arnos Vale Rachel had hinted that she would like a memorial bench nearer her home in Hemel Hempstead. Rachel’s bench was installed in August 2023 and provides a beautiful view across the Hertfordshire Country side. You can find Rachel’s bench tucked away under a tree clearing in Bunkers Park, Hemel Hempstead just a short distance from Rachel and Alaster’s home on Chambersbury Lane.

The Google Maps link below should take you close to where the bench is situated but some searching may be needed.
